（中央社佛州棕櫚灘23日綜合外電報導）美國總統當選人川普今天宣布，有意提名戴弗斯（Betsy DeVos）擔任教育部長。戴弗斯是第2位受川普點名入內閣的女性，這位家財萬貫的共和黨人提倡家長有學校選擇權。
川普（Donald Trump）稍早點名南卡羅來納州長海利（Nikki Haley）出任美國駐聯合國大使。
戴弗斯是來自密西根州的共和黨大金主，向來積極推動學校選擇權，主張使用稅捐抵免和憑證，允許家長不一定要讓子女進入公立學校系統就讀。
根據法新社，戴弗斯是溫奎斯特集團（WindquestGroup）、狄克與貝琪戴弗斯家族基金會（Dick andBetsy DeVos Family Foundation）及美國兒童聯盟（American Federation for Children）董事長。
溫奎斯特集團是聚焦清潔能源的投資集團；美國兒童聯盟自稱是致力「打破教育選擇權藩籬」的團體，特別是對低收入家庭。
戴弗斯的弟弟普林斯（Erik Prince）是保全公司美國黑水（Blackwater USA）創辦人，公司在伊拉克的運作曾引發爭議；而父親是一家汽車零件供應商創辦人。
戴弗斯的公公是李察?戴弗斯（Richard DeVos），曾登上雜誌「富比世」（Forbes）美國富豪榜第88名，身家估約54億美元。「今日美國報」（USA Today）網站報導，李察?戴弗斯是安麗（Amway）共同創辦人。
